The Work and the Glory

I recently watched all three of "The Work and the Glory." I have read seven of the nine books written by Gerald Lund also. I really enjoyed reading and watching the DVD's. They are so touching. I am also glad I watched them by myself, since I cried like a baby during the second DVD. When the mob tarred and feathered the prophet Joseph Smith, I just couldn't even imagine how painful that must have been. I'm sure child birth is a nothing compared to that kind of pain. So that got me started on crying and then his baby son died and that just broke me. Being a mother now, I can't even imagine the pain and hurt of loosing a child. And Emma and Joseph didn't just lose one child, but they lost several. It just breaks my heart thinking and knowing what Joseph and Emma had to endure in their lives. I just have to say that I am so grateful for the prophet Joseph Smith and all he did to restore the true church back to the earth. The Lord knew what he was doing in choosing such a strong and spiritual man. I am so excited to be learning about him and his life this year in Relief Society. I know he is a true prophet sent from God to bring to pass the true work here on earth. In the Joseph Smith manual this year, Brigham Young says the following, "I do not think that a man lives on the earth that knew him any better than I did; and I am bold to say that, Jesus Christ excepted, no better man ever lived or does live upon this earth, I am his witness." How true that is. I'm so greatful to have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and I hope that I can strive to be a better person every day so that I can return to live with God some day.

Byron's Birthday

Saturday was Byron's 27th birthday. We went to Glendale to his parents house so his younger brothers and sisters could watch Landen while us and his parents went out to dinner. Byron's brother Ben and his wife Kristen also came along, since Ben's birthday was on the 2nd. We went to Texas Roadhouse, our favorite. The food of course was very delicious. Afterward, we went back to his parents house for ice cream cake, Byron's fav and presents.

Hi Everyone,

I am wondering if any of you know of someone who might need a babysitter during the day. I would like to start babysitting again, but need someone to babysit. So spread the word to your friends and family and let me know if anyone is interested. Thanks a million.

A New Year

As always I'm late to post on Holidays.

Christmas was wonderful. We spent Christmas with Byron's family and stayed at their house Sunday through Thursday. We had a big dinner and lots of fun with presents at his mom's side of the family. Every year all the family gets together on Christmas for dinner and presents. It's nice to have someone else take care of your kids for you. Or at least keep them occupied. Byron's younger brother Jared sure did take good care of Landen for me while we stayed at their house. Jared is Landen's favorite. He won't leave the poor guy alone. Poor Jared was getting tired of him by the time Thursday began to roll around. Byron's mom and sister held Sydney for me alot. It was nice to have a break.

Byron's sister bought this for Landen. Everytime I sweep my floor, Landen thinks he needs the broom and then trys to sweep the floor. It's so cute. The broom talks when you sweep. It says stuff like "I'm sweeping Sam," "sweeping, sweeping," "You missed a spot." He loves to play with it. But he still likes my broom when I need to use it. Oh well.

Syndey turned a month old last Saturday, the 29th. I measured her and weighed her and according to my measurements she is now 9 lbs and 21.5 inches long. I can't believe she has gained two pounds and grown an inch and a half. My two favorite newborn outfits she can no longer wear. So sad. Her hair is getting slightly more red. She is starting to smile when you talk to her. I love it. She is a really good sleeper, at least compared to Landen. When Landen was a baby, he didn't sleep well at night at all. He just wanted to eat all night. Sydeny usually only wakes up twice during the night and if I'm lucky she will only wake up once. I'm so glad.

This picture I just had to post. Landen loves to give his baby sister some loves. He does really well with her. He gets jealous sometimes and it's hard when they are both tired or hungry. But overall, our days are pretty fun. I love to watch how Landen interacts with her.

Well what can we say about this picture that doesn't tell it all. I just had to post this to show that my sweet little boy isn't so sweet at times. We usually only post the good and happy pictures, but I had to post this one of my not so happy son. It makes me laugh looking at it.
