4th of July

Well I am the biggest doofus. I totally forgot to empty all my pics onto my computer before leaving town. So on the 4th, come to find out my camera is full. Well darn it. So I had Shauna and Sherry take pics for me. I'll have to post them when I can get copies. Luckily, I was able to go up North for some fun 4th festivities. I took my neighbor and her kids with me. We went to the Owens reunion to eat some grub and then I had to meet Jaida's mother in law half way to drop off Jaida. We woke up and went to the parade. It was fun. I loved watching my kids watch it. Landen didn't really run out into the street much to get candy. I think Crew and Halee were taking it all, but I managed to grab a few for him and Evan adn Sydney. Sydney just kept opening the suckers, sucking on them for for a few seconds and then opening a new one. So funny. At one point, she had three in her hand.
Of course, the parade woulDn't be very interesting if my dad weren't present. He likes to yell out remarks when certain people go by.
After the parade, we went home for a BBQ. Then just sat around for the rest of the afternoon. Landen and Sydney have LOVED having other kids to play with. Landen's cousins Cohwen and Evan are around his age and they just love to play together.
That night for the fireworks, I just stayed at my house with my kids and my parents while the rest of my family went to the high school to watch them. Landen and Sydney loved them for the first 15 minutes or so. Landen would yell out "Whoa! Look at that one. Did you see it!" So cute. And Sydney would say "there it is. and during a pause, she would say, "all gone." And then sometimes she would clap. Cute kids. That's the first time they have seen the fireworks, so I am glad they got to see them.
Sadly, the only bad thing about going out of town, is kids get either no nap or none at all (except for Sydney. She took like a four hour nap Saturday and Sunday) And they go to bed way too late. And I don't sleep very well. Sunday night it poured so much, that I think it kept me up half the night, until the storm moved on. Oh well. It's all worth it to go spend time with family and let the kids play and wear themselves out with their cousins.

Getting together with family is always fun...but then it's so good to go home! I for one can take the big crowds in tiny doses...then I like the peace and quiet!
